“Gyeran Bap” Boiled rice with a sunny side up egg

It was humid and hot today. We sometimes lose our appetite during summer and very simple and humble meal with Kimchi(김치) can be a good choice on a hot summer day. Today I made Gyeran Bap(계란밥), boiled rice with a sunny side up egg, which is a perfect match for Chonggak Kimchi(총각김치), whole raddish Kimchi. Maybe Gyeran Bap is not a Korean traditional dish, but many Korean people have their own memories of eating it in their own way by adding sesame oil or butter. I personally like a simple version of adding only soy sauce.

[Ingredients] Rice, eggs, soy sauce, oil

1. Fry two eggs, one sunny side up, the other well cooked.

2. Put the fried eggs on top of hot boiled rice.

3. Add one spoon of soy sauce and mix them well.

계란밥4With only eggs and Kimchi, I had the best dinner today.
