“Kimchi Jeon” Kimchi pancake


It’s still hot during the mid days, but autumn breeze has already changed our appetite. We enjoy ‘Jeon(전, pancake)’ all through the year, but it tastes better when it is cool outside. As pancakes are made with varieties of ingredients, Jeon can be made with what you have in your friger. Today’s dish is Kimchi Jeon (김치전) made with Kimchi which has been preserved in the Kimchi friger since last November and other ingredients that are now available at home.

[Ingredients] Kimchi(김치), pork(돼지고기), onion(양파), green pumpkin(애호박), green and red peppers(고추, 홍고추), red pepper paste(gochujang, 고추장), flour(밀가루), water

김치1. Wash Kimchi slightly in water, squeeze it, and chop it into small pieces.

재료준비2. Add sliced green and red peppers, sliced onion, sliced green pumpkin and chopped pork.

반죽하기3. Add flour, pour water and mix them well.

4. Add red pepper paste (Gochujang) to the batter and mix them well again.

부치기5. Bake the batter in oil over the mid-high heat. Flip it over when tiny craters begin to appear on the surface.



완성1I love Kimchi flavor and its crispiness. Yummy!
