My breakfast on weekends

This is my breakfast on weekends. Usually I eat only baked sweetpotatoes with a cup of milk. Today fresh strawberries are served as a spring bonus.

This black cookware is called ‘Sot‘ in Korean. The cast-iron cooking pot  was an essential cookware for every household because this was mainly used to cook rice which is the staple food of Korea. Now an electric rice cooker replaces this Sot.

My mom made the ceramic plates above.

  1. If you are not familiar with “Sot”, please use your oven. Bake Korean sweet potatoes with 420 F for 40-50 minutes. These baked sweet potatoes are called “Goon-goguma” in Korean and Korean’s favorite snack especially in winter.

  2. Once I found a focus, it was pretty easy to keep going – ideas just kept coming! I just do one a week – it can be time-consuming to put up good material. Good luck with yours!
